Honey Mead Not Bubbling

I transfered my honey mead into a 1 gallon jug a week and a half ago. I had the wrong airlock on hand so I used a balloon as a replacement for the first week. The balloon filled slightly for that week. About 3-4 days ago I replaced the balloon with an actual 3 piece airlock. There are a few bubbles in the airlock but not much activity. Is that normal? What am I waiting for at this point?

Assuming this is a wild ferment, did you let it have oxygen and stir it for the first few days?
