I just a hold of a buchi mother but Im moving in 5 days so I dont want to start a batch now since it need a week of undisturbedness... Is it okay to keep it in the tupperware container with a little bit of kombucha in it for a week before I start the process?

yes that's fine. I'd recommend keeping it in the fridge or just somewhere cool while it's waiting.

you'll know that you're mother is still alive and working if, once you start fermenting, it eventually (within the first couple days) floats to the top of the liquid.

They will keep for literally months or even years if kept in a cool place with enough kombucha to cover it.
