I've been given some water kefir grains, In the the past I have always used cooled boiled water for them but this time, for the first time, i used tap water (which is very high in clorine). They were effervecsing in the jar when I got them, but next morning they had stopped. I realised what I had done, rinsed them and refilled with boiled water. Since them I have been trying to get them back to life without sucess - I've tried molaases, sugar, boiled cooled water and ginger powder. although some are slightly desintergarting the grains feel solid but they are not bubbling nor turning the water into kefir!
Is it possible that one night in tap killed them - is there any hope of reviving them or shoudl I give up and try and find some new grains?
