add in a new fig each brew?

hi there. i normally leave half an inch of brew in the bottom of the jar, and the grains in there, and top up with fresh bottled water and brew perpetually, the little bit in the bottom helps the starter kick into the next brew. however, should i take out the couple of dried apricots/figs and put a new one in each brew?
