first Kombucha

I was looking at my first batch of Kombucha and while i can see the haze that is the new scoby developing, there is some gunk ontop too. looks like dried tea bubbles or some such thing. I'll try to take a picture of it tonight. should I leave it, try to remove it?

They are probably just strands of SCOBY's starting to grow - i get the same thing. Leave them, they might grow into a new SCOBY.

Hi there,
I have certainly had scobies that began like this so that looks fine to me. It should start to thicken now. There is a good website for troubleshooting kombucha problems. I will put the link below here. There are no pictures but it is quite comprehensive in its list of problems and solutions.
Good Luck!

Can anybody tell me when the best times of the day is, or before or after meals or workouts, to take something such as Kefir, Kombucha, or other fermented drinks? Also a general way to keep from getting Candida?
