Mead and Kombucha Cross-Contamination?

Hello I have been fermenting kombucha on top of a cabinet in the kitchen. I just started a mead and both are in the "open air" (covered with a cloth) stage of fermenting. Both are in glass one gallon jars. Should I be worried that the kombucha will cross-contaminate my mead? They sit about a foot apart on the cabinet. I'm thinking of moving the kombucha, but is it necessary?
