There's not really a recipe for kefir. What you need is a mother culture or 'grains' as they are typically called. Making kefir is absurdly simple - you pour your milk over the mother culture, let it sit for a day or two around room temperature, then strain and drink. Repeat process.
There are groups online that share mother cultures, sometimes just for the cost of postage. I found mine locally - someone at my raw-milk coop. Sorry I can't cite a source for you. Maybe someone else will chime in and tell you where you can get one.
