What colour mould is it? How does it smell to you?
Somewhere deep in my brain, I've seen the answer to this (what to look for to know if the milk mould is safe or not) but where? Perhaps The Art of Fermentation or more likely, Nourishing Traditions by Fallon. I'll try and dig the books out and have a look.
Hopefully someone else can tell us more.
