I am having trouble getting my vessel clear of mould.
I have been putting the ceramic weights in the oven at 200 C/392 F after cleaning, and I think this must be enough to kill anything that might be lurking. But I find that after about a week of returning them to the crock for storage, I lift the lid to an unpleasant smell. I have been thoroughly washing the crock with hot soapy water only. Should I be doing something more?
