Can you freeze whey?

Postby PhillVill on Tue Jul 27, 2010 10:35 pm

Hi All,
I was just wondering if you could freeze whey?
I seperate it from store bought plain yogurt, I like it thicker than greek yogurt with honey and fresh fruit.
Its active yogurt and I hate wasting anything.
I compost, can, ferment, recycle, reuse and find some recipient for everything I grow, bake, cook or dry.
The recipes in WF only call for a tiny amount of whey. (I've noticed other books suggested for working with whey, but I've yet to purchase any and I'd like to know what y'all think)
So, can you freeze it?
Thanks,
Phill

I always freeze mine and it still seems to ferment my vegetables. I am only a beginner though, and would like to hear others' opinions!
