The Vegetable Ranch in the Laurel Hill valley is accepting requests to participate in our homestead apprenticeship program on our urban farm. A good candidate's interests include growing vegetables and fruit to fuel the body, making value-added products to nurture a healthy sense of confidence, and participation in traditional arts which increase independence and creativity. These include such activities as soap making, cooking and baking foods from bulk staple ingredients, and/or fundamental skills such as composting, soil building, plant identification, natural food preservation, etc.

What we have to offer is an established infrastructure, support and teamwork. Maintenance and projects are ongoing. If you would like to participate in a Permaculture lifestyle, if rolling up your sleeves, possibly getting dirty, and maybe even doing a little bit of hard work doesn't scare you off, you could be a good candidate. From ongoing participation, you can expect to glean insight on how to implement Permaculture components into your lifestyle anywhere.

Highlights include:
* Greenhouse
* Orchard fruit
* Cane berries
* Year-round veggies
* Chickens
* Bees
* Preserves from traditional water-bath canning to natural ferments
* Home cooking from scratch
* raw milk dairy products
* Grass-fed pork and beef

If you are interested in this opportunity, please send a summary introduction of yourself. Responses which lend the impression of a good potential fit will receive a prompt reply. Once the available position is filled, we will accept waitlist requests.
